Participation in the 12th Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Agadir Urban Development Program

On November 1, 2024, the 12th meeting of the Steering, Monitoring, and Evaluation Committee of the Urban Development Program of Agadir (PDU 2020-2024) took place at the headquarters of the Wilaya, chaired by Mr. Saaid Amzazi, Wali of the Souss-Massa region and governor of the province of Agadir Ida Outanane. The meeting was attended by Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government and President of the Agadir Municipality, Mr. Karim Achengli, President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, as well as representatives from various stakeholders of the PDU.

During this meeting, a comprehensive assessment of urban transformation projects was presented, highlighting the progress made in various sectors, such as the redevelopment of infrastructure, the rehabilitation of public spaces, and the improvement of basic services in several neighborhoods of the city. These projects aim to enhance the modernization dynamics of Agadir while respecting the principles of sustainability and inclusion.

Focus on Mobility and Transport Projects:

As part of this meeting, a report was also made on the advancements of the first line of the BHNS (Bus à Haut Niveau de Service) project and the modernization of the urban bus transport network. Abdelouahed El Kassimi, General Director of SDL Grand Agadir for Mobility and Urban Movements (Agadir Mobilité), emphasized the milestones achieved in 2024 and the upcoming deadlines aimed at improving the mobility of residents and promoting sustainable mobility solutions.

These initiatives reinforce Agadir’s commitment to becoming a modern, accessible, and sustainable city, with transport infrastructures tailored to the needs of its citizens.
